Vala Setareh, founder of Schiller Legal, is a lawyer shaped not only by qualifications but by a journey across continents, industries, and inner landscapes.

Dual-qualified in Australia and Germany, and trained in both common and civil law traditions, Vala has walked many paths, through the structured world of mid and top-tier law firms, through the creative chaos of founding startups in health and insurance technology, and through the boardrooms of corporate deals.
 
Vala was a co-founder/CEO of a couple of startups (health tech and Insurance tech). He experienced the challenges and pressures founders and c-suit managers face. His experience included setting up all operations, building the team, developing business activities, gaining market leadership, and negotiating deals with health care providers and insurance companies/brokers.
 
As a lawyer Vala is known for providing commercially minded advice with a strong awareness for business needs and priorities.  He co-ordinates the legal strategies to impact the success of his clients' companies.

Vala also provides expert legal advice to startups, investors, and corporates in all areas of corporate law, including fundraising, intellectual property, data protection, employment etc. 
 
He worked on multiple investments ranging in size from $200,000 to $1.1B. He also advised on acquisition deals from inception to execution, regulatory issues for fintech/insurance tech businesses, such as B2C lending, crypto exchange platforms, market places.
 
Most recently, he was a legal adviser to many startups in the Sydney Startup Hub (SSH), the largest startup hub in the southern hemisphere.
